If you have wondered where all the online advertising dollars are coming from, here's the answer.
In September, TNS Media Intelligence reported that total US advertising expenditures for the first half of 2005 increased 4.5%, to $70.5 billion.
According to the researcher, Internet advertising was up 9.4% over the same period, to $3.6 billion. (TNS does not include search advertising).
According to TNS, Vonage was the number one spender in September, at over $20 million spent. Here are the top 20:
Most of the companies are Internet based. Among the major offline advertisers are General Motors at number 29, Sheraton Hotels at 33, Verizon at 36 and Wal-Mart at 38.
