the Russian advertising market will have grown by 60 percent to USD6.4bn compared with 2004, the Russian Association of Telecommunications Agencies has disclosed its forecasts. In 2004, Russia's advertising market was estimated at USD3.855bn. In 2005, it is expected to advance by 20.6 percent to USD4.65bn.
Industry observers refer to the TV advertising market as the fastest developing one. In 2005, it is predicted to grow by 24.7 percent to USD2.12bn from 2004, and to account for 45.6 percent of the whole of the Russian advertising market (up from 44.1 percent in 2004). In 2008, the TV advertising market will boost its market share to 49.2 percent. Simultaneously, shares of radio, press and outdoor advertising will shrink gradually. Yet, due to the overall growth of the advertising market, the segments will be still growing in monetary terms.
In 2005, radio advertising will increase by 17.5 percent to USD235m, and to USD320m in 2008. Press advertising will rise by 15.8 percent to USD1.39bn in 2005, and to USD1.815bn in 2008. Outdoor advertising will go up by 19.7 percent to USD850m in 2005. Forecasts indicate that in 2005 the outdoor advertising market share will decline to 18.3 percent, and to 15.9 percent in 2008, from 18.4 percent in 2004.
